Abdulaziz Bin Ammar

Clinical Psychologist

My academic journey began at Northeastern University, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Shortly thereafter, I began my professional career in the psychiatric unit at Boston Children’s Hospital, working with adolescents and young adults facing some of the most acute and complex mental health challenges. It was an experience that reinforced the importance of meeting people with compassion during their most vulnerable moments while deepening my appreciation for the resilience that can emerge even in the face of profound psychological distress.

I later completed my master’s degree in Clinical Counseling at William James College, where I received advanced clinical training working with adolescents, college students, and young adults across a variety of clinical settings. Since then, I have continued working primarily with adolescents and adults in outpatient practice, supporting individuals navigating a broad range of emotional, relational, and psychological difficulties.

My therapeutic approach is integrative and always tailored to the individual. While my work is primarily informed by psychodynamic and existential psychotherapy, I also draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) when appropriate.

One of the things I value most in therapy is creating a relationship where you no longer feel the need to perform. Many of us learn to hide parts of ourselves out of fear, shame, or the belief that we need to be someone different to be accepted. My hope is to offer a space where those defenses can gradually soften, allowing me the privilege of getting to know the person beneath them.

My goal is to provide a collaborative, thoughtful, and compassionate therapeutic space where clients can develop greater self-awareness, foster resilience, embrace themselves without fear, navigate life’s inevitable discomfort with greater confidence, and build lives that feel more authentic, intentional, and fulfilling.
